The San Marcos High School Band Boosters Corporation was organized to promote and support music and band activities, and also to help and maintain a high quality of musical education at the San Marcos High School. The organization raises funds for the maintenance and purchase of new musical instruments, funds transportation, insurance and security costs to musical and athletic events in other cities, and assists underprivileged children with fees so that all members can participate in our diverse musical events. It also helps payment of special instructors / tutors and other operating costs for the music and band programs that the school district does not cover. The Band Boosters constitute a community support for band members and their families, whereby; strong social bonds are formed through many meetings, hard volunteer work, and group attendance at many musical and athletic events. The resulting effort is that all band members are encouraged to strive for excellence, develop a pride in their school and themselves. The commitment demonstrated by the band booster parents also provides a role model for all students in the program to meet the demanding challenges in the world that awaits them.
